Head of Player Recruitment in F.C. Copenhagen

Reporting to the Director of Football you will have full leadership responsibility for the club's recruitment function - First Team scouting and the Academy recruitment pathway alike - and act as the key link between the recruitment team and the Director of Football. You'll define the strategy, own the budget, and build the structures that let us find and act on talent early and consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the recruitment team.
• Define and develop the club’s recruitment strategy.
• Own the department budget and resource allocation.
• Ensure structured scouting coverage to meet the needs of our strategy and requirements of each team in the pathway.
• Ensure the Academy recruitment pathway is aligned with First Team needs and squad planning.
• Build and maintain robust systems, data connections and player flow processes across the department.
• Report recruitment progress and priority targets to senior management.
• Proactively contribute to our scouting operations managing a region and undertake scouting assignments.

Qualifications and experience

• Extensive network and experience within international football scouting and recruitment.
• Proven leadership of a scouting or recruitment function, ideally across both First Team and Academy levels.
• Strong understanding of squad planning and how recruitment connects to sporting strategy.
• Skilled in prioritisation, resource allocation and budget management.
• Structured approach to data, systems and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt your communication to senior management, coaches and scouts alike.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Danish language skills are an advantage, but not a requirement.

The practicalities

• Employment: Full-time. Reference to Director of Football.
